Thank you again for your visit to the Proefdiervrij Event last April 24, 2024. We hope you had a good time and that the afternoon inspired you to contribute (even more) to the transition to a world without animal testing. Do you have any questions about collaborating with us or are you dying to see the pictures taken during the event? Then look no further!

Proefdiervrij Event 2024

On April 24th, 2024 (World Laboratory Animal Day) we hosted our annual Proefdiervrij Event. The event focused on animal-free innovation: scientists, policymakers, and experts gathered to create a future where science and compassion go hand in hand. As the highlight of the event, the winner of the Proefdiervrij  Venture Challenge 2024 was also announced.

On this page, we share photos taken during the event and remind you once more of our collaboration opportunities and LinkedIn group.

What you can do for a world without laboratory animals

We are convinced that laboratory animals will one day be obsolete thanks to the development and implementation of animal-free research. When this day arrives, there will be a big celebration  – but along the way, there are many more achievements worth celebrating.

During the Proefdiervrij Event, you’ll see that an laboratory animal-free world is closer than you think. By recognizing and celebrating successes, we create a positive environment that motivates everyone to keep going. Want to know what you can do to contribute to a world without animals in experiments? Here are some tips!

  • Apply lab animal-free alternatives where possible.
  • Educate students and colleagues about the benefits of animal-free models and how they can be applied in research. Interested in organizing a lecture together with us? Contact us!
  • Share your knowledge and resources with other scientists involved in the development of alternative methods to promote progress.
  • Use databases to see if there is an animal-free alternative that you can use in your research; such as FCS-free.org and NAT-database.org.
  • Participate in the Proefdiervrij Venture Challenge. Do you have a good idea for an animal-free research model but need some help setting up your own business? During the Proefdiervrij Venture Challenge, you’ll receive personal coaching and have the chance to win a cash prize to further realize your impactful business.
